Job Summary:
Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our local St Louis, MO clients. These opportunities vary from project-based to full-time open positions. This is a general application. Positions can vary in pay, location, (Greater St. Louis) and scheduled depending on client requirements. Please submit your resume for consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll on a biweekly/monthly basis for employees across multiple states or locations

Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, PTO, and deductions

Ensure payroll is compliant with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation

Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end tax forms

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on employee changes (hires, terminations, raises, benefit deductions, etc.)

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns

Assist with audits and reporting as needed

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of payroll experience preferred

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices

Proficient in payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with multi-state payroll

Familiarity with benefits administration and HRIS systems

CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification is a plus
